Enclomiphene is the trans-isomer of clomiphene citrate and functions as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). Chemically, enclomiphene exhibits preferential antagonistic activity at estrogen receptors (ERs) within the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. By blocking estrogen’s negative feedback signaling, enclomiphene increases the secretion of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), which in turn elevates luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels.
